The collection consists of two letters dated May 3, and May 9, 1863 from a university student in Athens, Georgia named Willie C. [last name undecipherable] to his mother, who lives or at least shops in Savannah. He writes of parties and "Lucy Cobb girls," of his clothes and getting his socks mended. Willie C. was probably a student at the University High School, since the University of Georgia suspended classes from October, 1862 till January, 1866 due to the War Between the States.
